Lintasarta Provides Internet Facilities at the Lombok Disaster Post

Jakarta, August 8, 2018. Lintasarta provides internet services using satellite signal receiving antenna (VSAT) at the main post in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to support communication facilities for post-disaster management in the region after the Lombok earthquake.

 

 

“Lintasarta has installed VSAT antennas for internet services at the North Lombok Regent’s Office Post which can be used to support disaster management,” said Suci Andrini Lintasarta Corporate Communication Manager in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

Suci explained, this internet is very useful for media partners, and those who are in the Lombok Disaster Post as a means of communication.

In addition to the VSAT network from Lintasarta, the Ministry of Communication and Information through the Information Technology Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) also provides Portable Satellite and VSAT telephones in several other disaster post locations to support coordination of disaster management and needs at the evacuation coordination post, Suci added.

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake (SR) shook East Sumbawa, North Lombok Sea, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2018. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) had the chance to issue a warning that the earthquake had the potential to cause a tsunami. The earthquake point is at a depth of 15 KM from sea level.
