Ready to Deliver World Class Data Center Business, BDx Indonesia Established to Support Indonesia’s Digital Transformation Agenda

Jakarta, June 3, 2022 – On June 2, 2022, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IDX: ISAT, “IOH” or “the Company”) announced the completion of a joint venture (JV) agreement with PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta (“Lintasarta”), and BDX Asia Data Center Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“BDx”) to establish an enterprise and hyperscale data center business in Indonesia. Driven by commitment to creating a world-class data center business, addressing the ever-growing demand for global standard data centers in Indonesia. IOH, Lintasarta, and BDx launched a IDR4.4 trillion JV company named PT Starone Mitra Telekomunikasi (“BDx Indonesia”), to scale up BDx Indonesia business, allowing BDx Indonesia to become a leading data center company in Indonesia.

Their investment into the JV, which is one of the largest foreign investments in Indonesia’s data center sector, brings together IOH’s digital telecommunications capabilities, Lintasarta’s award-winning portfolio and extensive experience as ICT players, and BDx’s global, best-in-class data center and connectivity expertise. BDx Indonesia plans to be a top provider of cloud and hyperscale data center services in Indonesia with a IDR9 trillion capital expenditure plan over the next few years. In addition to making various improvements to the existing data centers to increase performance and efficiency, BDx Indonesia has identified sites for greenfield expansion. The combined growth efforts are expected to increase the company’s total IT load in Indonesia from 7 MW to more than 70 MW.

BDx Indonesia is well positioned to become one of the largest data center platforms in Asia and will also lead the way in driving forward sustainable practices within the data center industry in Indonesia. FTI Capital Advisors acted as financial advisor to IOH in this transaction.
