Accelerating the Handling of Residents Affected by the Cianjur Earthquake, Lintasarta CSR Distributes Communication Network Assistance and Humanitarian Funds

Jakarta, 2 December 2022 – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 that hit Cianjur Regency, West Java on Monday (21/11/2022) resulted in the death of more than 300 people accompanied by the collapse of many buildings, including public facilities and infrastructure. Lintasarta, as one of the largest Total ICT Solutions companies in Indonesia, is swift in carrying out a series of corporate social responsibility/CSR activities at the Healthy and Prosperous Pillar through the distribution of assistance starting from the internet network to facilitate communication access in earthquake-affected areas, donations, multipurpose tents, and needs other pressing. The handover of Lintasarta’s CSR was represented by Choirul Friyuana, Central Indonesia Region General Manager of Lintasarta, to Ika Mardiah, Head of the West Java Province Communication & Information Service.

“The VSAT and fiber optic assistance is expected to speed up communication access and response to assistance in the field. In addition, it is hoped that humanitarian assistance in the form of donations and multi-purpose tents can relieve residents affected by the earthquake,” said Choirul Friyuana, Central Indonesia Region General Manager of Lintasarta.

Not long after the earthquake occurred, the Lintasarta team moved quickly with the Jabar Quick Response team to map the location of the blank signal for the Earthquake Communication Post in Cianjur. Currently, the installation of communication networks is being carried out at ten (10) location points, consisting of VSAT at four (4) locations and fiber optic (FO) networks at six (6) locations. This is part of Lintasarta’s support for West Java Province in ensuring smooth internet and communication networks in affected locations.

Lintasarta also distributes donations through the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) which are used for the needs of public kitchens, health services and groceries. In addition, ZIS ROHIS Lintasarta is carrying out the “Gotong Royong Building Cianjur” movement through fundraising within Lintasarta employees to meet urgent needs at disaster sites such as tarpaulins, blankets, snacks, vitamins, hygiene kits and food packages for adults and children

Meanwhile, Head of the West Java Province Diskominfo, Ika Mardiah, said assistance in the form of access to communication networks and humanitarian funds from Lintasarta would be very beneficial for the people of Cianjur and would ease the burden on residents who are currently displaced.

“We hope that the distribution through Diskominfo West Java Province can benefit all parties, especially affected communities, and can be distributed more precisely on target,” concluded Choirul.
