Overview

Initially before ‘online’ manufacture has a slow process in data consolidation and many constraints in delivery process. This eventually cause late and inaccurate decision making. Other than that more human resources is needed to process all data and cause inefficiencies in term of high level of inventory and low productivity.

Data acquired is the latest and integrated so that business decision is more accurate. This is only possible due to ‘one time’ data input and all data consolidation perform by computer. This integration has increase company efficiency significantly. Human error in data consolidation can be neglected. Number of human resources can be reduced and some staff can be transfer to other function. Even though a paperless system still not achieve, but definitely management need less paper.   For example is a soft drink company, known for its tea product, designed its online system in 1999. Initially there are 2 separate computer network system (production unit computer and distribution unit computer system). Recently this company is integrating computer network of all unit in one single integrated system. Although it is not yet accomplished but management already experience the benefits of online strategy. ‘It was very difficult previously to update production data, inventory and sales due to its manual system’

Solution

With the widespread location of that company units, a WAN is demanded to be a network solution. Finally that soft drink company trusted Lintasarta as partner that already has dozens years of networking experience. Frame Relay service is chosen as alternative and currently considering to use MPLS based VPN service as a flexible solution, added by its IT manager. For rural office, VSAT IP solution is chosen as solution.   As figure illustrated, HQ is connected to branches thru Frame Relay using wireline, BWA and WLL access media. While for small depot in rural area a satellite based solution is the choice.   ERP implementation in that company, has accelerate management in making quick and accurate business decision based on real updated data. Production management can decide whether to reduce or increase production , order more or less raw material since real time inventory available instantly.   About Lintasarta service quality, the IT Manager added "We have use Lintasarta services prior to 1999. Every time we consider to expand our business coverage we always ask whether Lintasarta able to provide it"   Owing to data availability and an update information on enterprise resources ,decision making become an easy task.
